Aquaculture in WA & beyond
The aquaculture industry is a major economic engine of Washington state and helps support the seafood supply chain around the entire country. As commercial fishermen, we’re proud to support the hardworking shellfish and seaweed farmers that make their living on our nation’s working waterfronts.
Our quarterly publication has recently been sent to subscribers – if you follow aquaculture and working waterfront news in the Pacific Northwest, you may consider signing up for this WA Aqua Bites newsletter (shellfish-focused) and/or Washington Kelp Lines (all about seaweed farming in the state).
October 2024 highlights include:
- WA Dept of Ecology begins Shoreline Management Act Rulemaking Process – Learn about the process and how you can get involved.
- NOAA announces Nearshore Calculator in Puget Sound – The calculator is designed to provide options for preventing and offsetting the loss of critical nearshore habitat in Puget Sound.
