The Port of San Diego will soon close the comment period on its Shellfish & Seaweed Aquaculture Program (SSAP) discussion draft.

The purpose of the discussion draft is to incorporate public feedback into the program ahead of the formal environmental review process. Early engagement is key to creating a community-informed program and successful public process.
The SSAP would support and facilitate development of shellfish and seaweed aquaculture in and around San Diego Bay, starting with three in-water and three landside aquaculture operation locations.
The public comment period closes October 25, 2024.
